Go on a ridge hike connecting Špindlerův Mlýn with Plání and Výrovka, which is known for its impressive views. This 13 km long route will take you past Klínový Buda, a unique mountain shelter, Chalet na Rozcestí and Výrovka. Breathtaking views await you along the route along with the Krkonoše nature.

Start in the center of Špindlerův Mlýn

Head from the city center towards the cable car of Sv. Peter/Plain.

Ropeway Sv. Peter/Plain

Use the ropeway to overcome the first few meters of altitude, saving you energy for the rest of the hike.

Buda na Pláni and Klínovka

After getting off the cable car, head to Bouda na Pláni and then to Klínovec, from where you continue to Chalupa na Rozcestí.

Shed On The Plain

The hut was built as early as 1530 by the Renner family, which was one of the oldest families living on the Krkonoše ridges. It played an important role in world history in March 1944, when Colonel Count von Stauffenberg and his close associates planned the details of the assassination of Adolf Hitler here. Currently, the shed is a popular accommodation not only for winter sports lovers, but also for school trips or ski training.

Klínovka shed

Currently the highest farm in the Czech Republic. The original hut was built here in 1676. With the boom in tourism, the hut began to offer accommodation and, unlike other similarly situated huts, people lived here all year round. In the 20th century, the shed burned down 3 times, and in 1970 it collapsed. The shed was given new life only by reconstruction in 2003, when it was opened to the public after many years.

Cottage on Rozcestí

At an altitude of 1349 meters above sea level and at the crossroads of 6 roads, the cottage is a popular stop not only for tourists. It lies on the oldest Krkonoše trail "Silesian Way" and at the same time on the border between the municipalities of Špindlerův Mlýn, Pec pod Sněžkou and Strážné. Compared to the others, the relatively young shed was built and opened to the public in 1934.

From Klínovka, the route turns to Výrovka, one of the peaks of this hike, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Originally a simple shelter from the 18th century, thanks to its convenient location, it became a sought-after destination for tourists and later a favorite cozy place. As early as the 19th century, refreshments and souvenirs (mainly postcards and the so-called purple stone) were sold here. Over time, the shed was a popular place not only for finance, but also a military training base, and in 1938 a gendarmerie station was established here. The shed was rebuilt to its current form between 1988 and 1990.

Return to Špindlerův Mlýn

Descend through Dlouhý důl and St. Peter's Valley back to the center of Špindlerův Mlýn, where your hike ends.
